Things To Do

East Shore Bike Path

This was one of our favorite days in Tahoe when we drove past Flume Bike Rentals and spontaneously rented bikes for a couple hours. The east shore bike path follows the coast of the lake and you can stop at all the best beaches (Memorial Point Outlook, Hidden Beach, Sand Harbor, Secret Cove, Whale Beach) LINK

Clyde’s Coffee

This is by far the best coffee shop in Tahoe, we may be biased since we went almost every day to work since our rental didn’t have working wifi but we will need to go at least once. Great coffee + smoothies :) LINK

Castle Rock Trail

This hike was down the road from our rental so we did it pretty often and think it is arguably the best view of the lake without the crowds. It’s a fairly easy trail, 1.8 miles and 396ft elevation gain. This is also right by Clyde’s. LINK

Heavenly Gondola

Caroline’s favorite part of Tahoe was probably snowboarding Heavenly, we won’t be able to do that in June but we may be able to take the gondola up for a scenic view. We’ll need to wait until they post their summer season dates but they have a ton of family friendly activities as well. LINK

Day on the Lake

We didn’t spend too much time in or on the lake because it was too cold in April, it may still be chilly early June but we’d love to bring you all out on the lake one day, either on a tour boat or rental, TBD.

Heavenly Village

Some cute shops by the base of the gondola and casual dining options with live music. We’ve been following this guy on instagram for the past 4 years after he played like 5 of our requests, his band will be playing a festival Sunday afternoon.

Clear Kayak Tour

We did this with Jane and Mike and had such a good time, you can see every single rock under the water. They currently aren’t booking for 2025 yet but we could look into doing a tour for people interested. LINK

Secret Cove

This is a nude beach but we never saw anyone else when we went. It was the most beautiful swimming spot.

Emerald Bay

This spot was a little tricky to drive to but may be easier coming from the north side of the lake. It’d be great if we can get a boat tour around Emerald bay but this view is spectacular in person. Slight hike from parking.

Lakeside Beach

This is the most traditional style beach in Tahoe, I’d imagine it’d be much more crowded in June but we could always try to check it out. The water isn’t as clear here as it is in other spots though.

Whale Beach

Second favorite swimming hole after Secret cove.

Pallasides Mnt

This is a bit of a drive from the lake but cool to see where the olympics took place. The mountain was open well into May when we were here.

Why Tahoe?

In March 2021, we packed up everything and hit the road for what would turn into an 18-month adventure across the country. We traveled through countless towns and cities, exploring mountain ranges, coastlines, and everything in between. But of all the places we visited, Lake Tahoe was the one that truly felt like home.

We spent six weeks in Tahoe, staying in a cozy chateau at the base of the Stagecoach Lodge. We’d planned to ski right from the door, but, in true road trip fashion, the lift stopped running the weekend we arrived. That didn’t stop Caroline — she grabbed snowshoes, hiked up the mountain after work with her snowboard, and sled down solo a few times. We made it to the main mountain a handful of times before the season ended and even skied Squaw Mountain in late May — the latest Caroline has ever skied!

But Tahoe isn’t just about snow. We spent our days soaking up everything the lake had to offer — cold plunges, kayaking, and a boat tour around Emerald Bay. One of our favorite days was biking around the lake, discovering hidden swimming spots with crystal-clear water. We listened to live music, hiked trails for the best views of the lake, and welcomed visits from a few of our closest friends — and even Mr. and Mrs. Cuppernull! And we can’t forget the golf—Tahoe is home to one of Ryan’s favorite golf courses, Edgewood.

Out of all the places we traveled, Tahoe kept pulling us back. The lake, the mountains, the peacefulness — it became a place where we felt completely connected to nature and to each other.

When it came time to choose where we wanted to celebrate our wedding, there was no question it had to be here. Tahoe holds some of our favorite memories, and we can’t wait to create more — this time with all of you by our side.
